Fes is the second largest city in Morocco after Casablanca. Located to the northeast of Atlas Mountains, Fez is situated at the crossroad of the important cities of all regions; 206 km (128 mi) from Tangier to the northwest, 246 km (153 mi) from Casablanca, 169 km (105 mi) from Rabat to the west, and 387 km (240 mi) from Marrakesh to the southwest which leads to the Trans-Saharan trade route. It is surrounded by the high grounds, and the old city is penetrated by the River of Fez flowing from the west to east. Today, the city largely consists of two old medina quarters, Fes el Bali and Fes Jdid, and modern urban area of Ville Nouvelle constructed during the French colonial era. The medina of Fez is listed as a World Heritage Site and is believed to be one of the world’s largest urban pedestrian zones (car-free areas).

Explore Morocco in 1 day guided trip from Fes

Fes Guided tour starts at 9 am and finishes at 6pm :

“Magic Morocco Tours” organize very popular activity – guided excursion from Fes to Chefchaouen with local guide. This tour is available every day.

We start our guided tour from Fes. We pick up you from your hotel / riad and we drive towards Chefchaouen in Rif mountains.

Chefchaouen or Chaouen, as it is often called by Moroccans, is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The name refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town, that look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. “Chef Chaouen” derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen. Chefchaouen’s blue walls are a popular subject of interest. There are several theories as to why the walls were painted blue. One popular theory is that the blue keeps mosquitos away.

We explore Chefchaouen with local guide so you can be sure you will explore all main sights.

The guided tour of Chefchaouen finishes afternoon, and then we return back to Fes, where we drop you off at your hotel  / riad.
